Using XML files from Primavera P6

Post by Josh » Mon May 04, 2020 4:15 pm

I tried to export schedule from P6.18 to RiskyProject using Microsoft Project MSP XML files, but they wouldn’t work, presumably because I’d have needed MSP installed as well. Did I do something wrong?

You do not require to have MSP installed to import the xml file. In 2015, we had a discussion with the Primavera/Oracle consultants and they recommended the MSP xml as the most robust integration format. We did have some clients who had success and some like to use XER, which is why we added to support .xer in RiskyProject 7.1. There can be some rendering issues and also each platform has their own set of heuristics on how they calculate schedules that can cause minor discrepancies.
