Re: Addin Calculation button not working in MSP Addin
With the update to the MSP cloud the communication between the addin and the calculation engine appears to be blocked or getting interrupted and the calculation is failing. It is an odd situation, because the Addin doesn't work independently of the desktop software as they share the calculation engi...

Re: Licensing Expired notification after upgrading to MS 365
The issue is that with your new install of the MS 365 the procedure must have deleted the previous license activation and there were no available activations (they had been previously used). We have refreshed the license and it can now be reactivated.

From looking at the provided files there are a few issues. First, the Rate Increase risk outcome was assigned to all the resources and globally. Re: Level of Effort Tasks and Cost Risk
This what is called hammock or level of effort (LOE) tasks and our scheduling engine doesn't support it. The reason is that they cannot be driver of uncertainty in a schedule. For schedule risk analysis, best practice is to remove them before importing into RiskyProject. For cost analysis, if the LO...

Re: Risks assigned globally after importing schedule
Here is the explanation with an example I have created a risk register with qualitative assessment. https://www.intaver.com/images/RP_Forum_GlobalRisk.png Now I import an MSP xml file: https://www.intaver.com/images/RP_Forum_GlobalRisk1.png You should see that all of the results are gone. This is be...

Re: Updating risks during project execuition due to mitigation efforts
You are correct. Unlike Response plans which can be both quantitative and qualitative, mitigation plans are qualitative plans and has no effect on the simulation results. Regardless of whether you have mitigation plans or not, you should be reviewing and updated risk probability and/or impacts on a ...

Re: Cost of risk is too high
If this is happening when the risk is assigned to a single task, I suspect that the activity has a resource with a rate associated with it as well. When you have a schedule risk assigned to a task with a resource rate this will also generate "time dependent" costs. Here is how this works. ...

Re: Can Deadline be used to automatically adjust schedules
With deadlines the results will only show that it fails to meet the deadline. It does not compress the schedule as you would like. Typically, schedule compression or acceleration requires a complete rework of the schedule including adding additional resources, more parallel activities. etc as requir...

Re: Calculated risk probability is different that the Input Probability
Calculated probability can vary from the input. But normally not by much. The reason is similar to throwing a dice. At each iteration, the risk has a 15% of occurring, so after 1 iteration, the probability will be 0 or 100%, after 2 0,30, or 100%. After 100 iterations, it could occur 15x (ie 15%) bu...

Re: Using resources to model a schedule and cost risk
If you model a schedule risk with resources with rates allocated to the affected tasks. The added costs due to the risk will be part of the analysis. Same as if you apply the risk directly to the resource, however if that resource is assigned to any other tasks, they will be affected as well.
