Re: Qualitative vs Quantitative Probability and Impacts

Qualitative : Easiest method is to use the Probabilities and Outcomes tab in the Risk Information view. You can also set up the Risk Register view to enter the data, but this requires adding specific columns to the view. https://www.intaver.com/images/RP_Forum_InputRiskProb1.png Quantitative : Once...

Re: Difference between Mitigation, Mitigation Strategy, and Response Plans

One thing to consider is whether you are performing qualitative or quantitative analysis. The risk system and interface changes depending upon which methodology you are using. The Risk System itself is configurable from properties (columns) in the views to risk scoring methods, severity ranking etc....

Re: Pre and Post Mitigation scores after MC Simulation

I think it is a misunderstanding of what the mitigation planning does. Quantitative modeling of mitigation efforts is a type of scenario analysis. Mitigation plans not part of the quantitative analysis in that they are qualitative - plans reduce the risk. However, to run an analysis on it, you have ...

Is it important to know what probabilities shown on each quadrant is essentially a number of dots within this quadrant vs. total number of dots (samples). Each dot represents on Monte Carlo simulations

Re: Importing Risk Registers into an existing schedule

Check the file and noticed that there are a lot of global risks many of which are assigned to activities that have local task risks. When you import a risk register there is no task assignments, so by default the risks are set as global. However if the risk is global and local at the same time this ...

Minimum VM system requirements

The minimum VM requirements for MC simulations. If you have larger schedules, we would recommend upgrading from the minimum requirements. 1. CPU: At least 4 vCPUs. 2. Memory: A minimum of 16 GB of RAM . 3. Storage: SSD storage with at least 128 GB to ensure fast read/write speeds and adequate space ...

Re: Issues when running RiskyProject on a Virtual Machine

There can be three types of issues with virtual machines or any other remote desktop connection: 1. Performance of the virtual machine is insufficient. This is seen when elements of interface don't refresh properly, calculation is very slow, there is a delay in response to keyboard entry or button c...

Re: Addin Calculation button not working in MSP Addin

With the update to the MSP cloud the communication between the addin and the calculation engine appears to be blocked or getting interrupted and the calculation is failing. It is an odd situation, because the Addin doesn't work independently of the desktop software as they share the calculation engi...

Re: Licensing Expired notification after upgrading to MS 365

The issue is that with your new install of the MS 365 the procedure must have deleted the previous license activation and there were no available activations (they had been previously used). We have refreshed the license and it can now be reactivated.

From looking at the provided files there are a few issues. First, the Rate Increase risk outcome was assigned to all the resources and globally. This double counts the risk so you must remove the global risk assignment. Second, resources that are Material with a cost /use or Cost Type Resource with ...

Re: Level of Effort Tasks and Cost Risk

This what is called hammock or level of effort (LOE) tasks and our scheduling engine doesn't support it. The reason is that they cannot be driver of uncertainty in a schedule. For schedule risk analysis, best practice is to remove them before importing into RiskyProject. For cost analysis, if the LO...

Re: Updating risks during project execuition due to mitigation efforts

You are correct. Unlike Response plans which can be both quantitative and qualitative, mitigation plans are qualitative plans and has no effect on the simulation results. Regardless of whether you have mitigation plans or not, you should be reviewing and updated risk probability and/or impacts on a ...
