DCMA Check #1: Logic

This check identifies percent of Incomplete Tasks with no predecessor and/or no successor (i.e. “dangling” tasks). Such “dangling” tasks significantly affect probabilistic analysis because uncertainties in one tasks may not affect successors

Target

Percent of Incomplete Tasks with with no predecessor and/or no successor should not be greater than 5%

Comments

Using the list of task issues (the list at the top of Diagnostics dialog box) to may see the following messages for the particular tasks:

  1. Task does not have predecessors or successors. Task uncertaitines may not affect the project uncertainties
  2. The task does not have predecessors
  3. The task does not have successors
Double click on select message to go the schedule and fix and problem.
