Entering Tracking Information


Tracking information is not included in the baseline The original project schedule (before calculation). Baselines are calculated without taking into account risks, uncertainties, and tracking information. RiskyProject uses only one project baseline. Baseline project schedules are shown in the Baseline Gantt view. In addition, the baseline can be shown together in the Result Gantt and Tracking Gantt views. It allows you to compare the calculated project schedule, which included risks, uncertainties, and tracking information, with the baseline schedule. calculation.  The progress of summary tasks is a function of its subtasks; therefore, you cannot add tracking data to summary tasks. RiskyProject will calculate tracking data for summary task and complete project automatically.

To track task progress:

  1. Select the task to which you want to enter tracking data.

  2. Open the Task Information dialog box. See the About Task Start Time, Finish Time, and Duration topic to read more about opening the Task Information dialog box.

  3. Click the Tracking tab. By default, the first row should contain the actual start time with zero percent done..

  4. Click the row below the previous entry.

  5. Enter the date or select it from the calendar Calendar: Calendar is a set of working and non-working times and days. Calendars are defined in Working Time dialog box. Only one current calendar is used for all tasks and resources in the project..

  6. Enter the percentage of the task completed by the specified date. All dates and percents must be consistent. For example, you cannot have a record with 60% completed before a record with 40%completed. In addition, you cannot have historical data with the date Jan 5,2004 before the record with Dec 14,2003

  7. Type in a comment to record actual details of work completed. You can now view Located on the left of the RiskyProject workspace, the Workflow bar allows you to quickly select and open Views. The order of the views in the workflow bar reflects the recommended project risk management workflow. The Workflow bar can be turned on and off from within the Options dialog box (view tab) or the View menu.
