RiskyProject Addin for RiskyProject

Post by Strategy Table » Fri Nov 20, 2015 11:23 am

We have recently migrated to Project 2013 some of our users cannot get the RiskyProject Addin to appear . While we know that we can save and import the file using the xml format, we would prefer to run the Monte Carlo schedule risk analysis using the Addin.

There are several reasons why the Addin may not appear in MS Project. Please review this topic:

If this does not resolve the issues. The most likely cause is that some of the required visual studio libraries or other dependencies have not been installed on the computer. Because some of your users have been able to successfully install the Addin in MSProject and other’s cannot, this indicates that there are some differences between how Office was installed on the computers in which it opens and ones that it does not.
This blog MSDN blog entry outlines how to create log files to identify which dependencies are missing from the target computer

We discovered another reason why RiskyProject addin for Microsoft Project may not be loaded. If you install Microsoft Project 2003 or Microsoft 2007 after Microsoft Project 2010 and up, it can cause problems with loading addin in Microsoft Project 2010. To solve the problem you would need to uninstall Microsoft Project 2003 or Microsoft 2007, and launch Microsoft Project 2010. After this Microsoft Project 2010 will repair itself and addin will be loaded.
