Risks for resources

Post by Col » Mon Mar 26, 2007 4:51 pm

How can I assign risks to resources (e.g. chance that the component does not arrive on time equals 70%)?

You can define local and global risks for both task and resources. To define local risks to resources:

1. Go to resource view
2. Click on resource ID, resource information dialog comes up
3. Go to Risks tab
4. Enter risks

To define global risks:

1. Go to Global risks view
2. Enter risks
3. Assign risk to all resources (use Assign column)

For example, you have a risk "Software developer is sick". It cases delay on 3 days. Probability is 10%. It is assigned to resource "Software Developer". The resource is assigned to 2 tasks. For task 1 the resource is used on 100%. For task 2 the resource is used on 50%. Assigning risk to resources is essentially assigning risk tasks, where this resource is used. However risk probability will be 10% for task 1 and 5% (10% * 50%) for task 2.

Yes. You just need to switch radio button at the top of right pane to resources.
