Importing most likely duration if it is not the base Duration in MS Project

Can we import base duration from MS Project if it is different from 'duration'? What is the work around if it does not work this way?

Currently there is no way to map an alternative Base Duration (Most Likely) when importing to RiskyProject. Sometimes , upon analysis the base duration does not equal the Most Likely. If you cannot modify the current baseline, you will have to create an alternative baseline with the more realistic most likely durations. There are 3 possible solutions:

1. In MSP: Copy the current Base duration another Duration column (e.g. Duration 5). Enter in the preferred duration in the Duration column and import to RiskyProject. You could also create a copy of the project file and change the base durations. Important to always create a copy of the original Base Duration either in another column or copy of the file.

2. Edit the base durations in RiskyProject after the import. This maintains the original baseline in MS Project, but can be more time consuming.

3. Assign an issue to the schedule that shifts the base duration relatively to create a more realistic schedule.
In this example you would create assign a risk “schedule quality” globally or locally that has a !00% probability and x% relative delay.
In this example, using the Global Risk Assignments view, we have added the “Schedule Quality” risk with 100% probability and 10% relative delay. By doing this we have shifted increased the duration of all activities by 10%.
