Exporting Projects

You can export project data to a variety of 3rd party applications. You may export schedules to Microsoft Project XML format, which is supported by most scheduling software. You can export any data tables such as schedule, risk register, risk assignment, risk mitigation and response to Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Project can be launched from RiskyProject.

Exporting data to XML formats

You can export either the current project schedule or the results of the analysis.

  1. Click Export-Import > Export > MS Project (XML).
  2. Select file name you want your schedule to be exported to.
  3. If you have results of Monte Carlo simulation, Export Schedule dialog opens. Select what do you want to export to XML file: deterministic (original) schedule or results of analysis. Click OK.

Exporting Data to Excel

You can export data from data tables directly to Excel. A new instance of Excel will be launched every time you export the data. To export data to Excel:

  1. Navigate to the table you want to export.
  2. Click Export-Import > Export > Microsoft Excel. The Export Data dialog box opens.
  3. Choose if you want to export all table or only selected rows. Also, choose formatting of the header and data: fonts, background color, and border.
  4. Click OK.

Exporting Results of Analysis to Microsoft Excel

You can export statistical data for a group of selected tasks to the comma-separated (CSV) file for use in Microsoft Excel. For the selected tasks, the csv file contains the following simulation results: duration, cost, start and finish time, and work for all iterations.

  1. Open any view that contains task information, such as Project View, and select tasks you want to export.
  2. Click Export-Import > Export > Statistics to CSV File. The Export Data dialog box opens.
  3. Enter the file name for comma separated (CSV) file and click OK. You can now open this file Microsoft Excel.
