Schedule Diagnostics

Schedule diagnostics is a detailed analysis of project schedule. Using Schedule diagnostic tool you can:

1. Find issues with your project schedule, which would affect results of risk analysis as well as affect integrity and quality of the schedule. RiskyProject allows you to perform 21 tests and identify tasks, which such issues.
2. Perform a DCMA 14 point Schedule Assessment. DCMA 14-point Schedule Assessment is a project management guideline established on 14 metrics that provide the possibility to make a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the schedule. It was developed by the US. Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) for the purposes of the defense industry, but is used in other industries as well. 3. Review schedule metrics, such as number of tasks, links, summary tasks, resources, etc.

To perform schedule diagnostics:

1. Click the Schedule tab.
2. Click Schedule Diagnostics to run the diagnostics. When completed, the diagnostics results will open in the Schedule Diagnostics pane.

DCMA 14-point Schedule Assessment

DCMA 14 point Schedule Assessment is performed automatically when you click on Schedule Diagnostics. For two tests, additional settings are required:

1. For For DCMA-6, DCMA-7, DCMA-12, you may need to enable critical path calculation: in Schedule -> Project Options, go to Calculation tab and select Calculate Critical Path.
2. For DCMA-13, right-click on row ID and click on Milestone for DCMA 13-CPLI and then select milestone which is required for this test.

Notes

• You can double-click on each DCMA test and view detailed information about particular metric as part of RiskyProject Help System. To view Help you must be connected to Internet.
• You can copy test results to clipboard: right-click on row ID and click on Copy
• You can see issues associated with DCMA tests within list of issues (top listbox) by clicking on the particular DCMA test

Viewing Tasks with Issues within a Project Schedule

You may view tasks associated with particular issue or particular DCMA test:

1. Open any view that has project schedule, such as Project View or Gantt Result view.
2. Click the Schedule tab.
3. Select Schedule Diagnostics. Diagnostic of the schedule is performed.
4. Click on DCMA test and see issues associated with this test in top list box.
5. Select any other issues from the top list box.
6. Click OK.

Task with selected issues will be highlighted. You can clear highlighted tasks by clicking on Clear Selection and Close with Diagnostics dialog box or by clicking on Schedule -> Zoom and Find -> Clear (eraser icon)
